The Dutch Minister for Overseas Development, Agnes van Ardenne, has granted € 2.65 million for the Round Table Africa Project; a project that MSM runs in collaboration with Nyenrode University. Minister Van Ardenne accounts for the granting of the full subsidy by pointing out MSM’s clear approach in supporting and initiating businesses in southern Africa and to the way in which it aims to contribute to a sustainable economic development. It is the first time that MSM receives this subsidy.
Minister van Ardenne has been advised by the The Dutch MFS Advisory Committee on Joint Financing (Medefinancieringsstelsel, MFS). The advice shows that Maastricht School of Management (MSM) is the only major educational institute in the Netherlands to receive an MFS subsidy.
Round Table Africa
Round Table Africa looks at promoting businesses in southern and eastern Africa from a business angle. It is MSM’s view that, in addition to NGOs, businesses are just as essential to really get
an economy going. The program aims to achieve a structural collaboration between international businesses on the one hand and local companies and policy-makers on the other. They meet at conventions to solve bottlenecks, clear away financial obstacles, and develop new markets.
