Linking Potato Farmers to Processors

The potato value chain has been beset by the problems of production and marketing in Kenya. Contributing to the low yields is the low or inappropriate application of inputs (Kaguongo et al., 2008; University of Nairobi, 2002; Durr & Lorenzl, 1980).   

The objectives of this project is to get public, private and partnership in an action that can achieve quick tangible results, to go beyond marketing innovation to improving the whole value chain including enhancing quality and improving yields, moreover to get into ways of processing potatoes at the rural level so that they are able to lets say supply frozen potatoes, process crisps locally and market these nationally.
