Henry Barnabas Njuguna

Short Profile

Mr. Njuguna, a civil engineer by training, is an acknowledged specialist, trainer and consultant in the areas of procurement for civil works, procurement of Goods and Equipment, and the Selection of consultants; construction management and transportation management and operations. He has extensive experience in these areas and has conducted senior level training and consulting at national and continental levels. He joined ESAMI in 1983 and has been a chief consultant since 1998.

Prior to joining ESAMI, Mr. Njuguna worked with the Ministry of Works in Nairobi, Kenya for 12 years and was involved in progressively senior levels in various facets of road network planning, design and construction. 

Qualifications: B.Sc (Eng.) Hons. (NRB). M.E.S (Transport Engineering and Planning); R.ENG.  M.I.E.K; M.C.I.T. Has had additional Training and holds certificates in the areas of: Transport Planning and Management (ESAMI/World Bank, 1978); International Procurement and Contract Negotiation (Washington DC, 1982) and Training of Trainers in Procurement Management (ILO TURIN, 1993; WORLD BANK HQs, 1999).
